- Attend the next BREC Commission Meeting: Thursday APR 23rd, 2026 5PM at BREC Main Office, 6201 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70806
- The BREC/SASAKI survey has reopened until April 17th, 2026. Take the survey and help determine the future use of the golf course property at City Park. Additionally, write your BREC commissioners. All their addresses are on this website. Tell them to keep the golf course completely intact with no reduction in footprint. - Take a look at another civic association, FRIENDS OF CITY PARK BATON ROUGE (external link), they have a wonderful overview about this historic 100 year old facility. The 'Friends' group is also actively assisting to keep the golf course from closing permanently.
NOTICE: BREC and their consultant developed a biased statistical survey and unleased it on the public. BREC and their consultant, Sasaki, didn't find enough public support to close the course, so they REOPENED the survey until April 17th, 2026. We urgently need you to complete the BREC/SASAKI survey. Demand to Keep all of City Park GOlf footprint intact. Take a look at our archive of this survey and judge for yourself if it is biased. We believe BREC has rigged this survey to statistically to favor any other 'program use(s)' or 'use case(s)' other than golf. Their method gave citizens eight options to choose; if a respondent selected all options (or simply golf plus a few other activities), then the consultant can publish a report that 7 out of 8 citizens want a use other than golf at City Park. In a court of law, that would produce a rigged data set for pre-determined trial outcome. The nine person BREC commission can now utilize the consultant's report (containing biased data) to justify a BREC board member vote to close the golf course forever. We recommend you take a look our archive and guidance on the BREC survey and judge if you agree if it was biased. We also recommend you Email: commissioners@brec.org and tell them to "Keep the City Park Golf Course in Baton Rouge exactly as it is today. No reduction in Golf Footprint. We support keeping Golf at City Park in Baton Rouge".
